“And now, behold, the Lord has kept me alive, as He said, these forty-five years, ever since the Lord spoke this word to Moses while Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now, here I am this day, eighty-five years old. As yet I am as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength for war, both for going out and for coming in. (This is Divine Faith. Such Faith overcomes the world.) Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the Lord spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and that the cities were great and fortified. It may be that the Lord will be with me, and I shall be able to drive them out as the Lord said. (Williams says, “Giant sins entrenched on strong mountains are helpless before a Faith that is born of God. This fact may be experienced by any and all Believers, if they will but wholly follow the Lord as did Caleb.”) ” (Joshua 14:10-12).

The Light
2 04 2011God’s word is designed to serve as an illumination for our life. It is through His word that we can discover His perfect life plan for us, which when followed, will lead to our ultimate destiny. Every word, every directive, and every truth will act as a guide lighting up our pathway through life. With such a great light it will be near impossible for us to be overwhelmed by the darkness that is so often present in this world. As believers, we have been given the lamp of life which will lighten our days. Let us walk in the light as He is in the light for He has promised us long life and good success, only in the light.
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. I have sworn, and I will perform it, that I will keep thy righteous judgments” (Psalm 119:105-106)

Fear keeps us from God’s best.
5 02 2011“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7)
It’s time for us to believe that God is about to do something great, that He wants to bring us into a new season of His favor and grace.
If you don’t face your fear, it can pollute your thinking, steal your joy and rob your dreams. We give so much attention to negative news that focuses on fear.
We all face situations where we feel anxious and afraid; for some, what if I lose my job, what if my child gets sick, or speaking in front of others makes them fear; others are afraid of confrontation, others of being made to look foolish, others are afraid of rejection. We all deal with fear.
Every day these kinds of poisonous thoughts come against us, but we don’t have to give up.
The first step in dealing with such fears is to understand that they are not from God! To be able to say, “This isn’t God making me feel like this! God hasn’t given me this!” Perhaps it is from your personality, perhaps a weakness of the flesh, perhaps a demonic attack – but it isn’t from God.
The second step in dealing with such fears is understanding what God Has given us: a spirit of power and of love and of a sound mind. When we give in to the thoughts of fear, when we’re constantly thinking about it, wrestling with it and letting it dominate our thoughts, more often than not, our fears become a reality.
God has given us a spirit of power: When we are doing His work, proclaiming His word, representing His kingdom, we have all His power backing us. We are safe in His hands.
God has given us a spirit of love: This tells us a lot about the power He has given us. Many think of power in terms of how much we can control others; but Jesus’ power is expressed in how much we can love and serve others. Remember Jesus, on the night before the cross, Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands - what did He do with all that power? He humbly washed His disciples’ feet! (John 13:1-11)
God has given us a sound mind: The Greek word here has the idea of a calm, self-controlled mind, in contrast to the panic and confusion that rushes in on us when we are in a fearful situation.
The way to overcome fear is with faith and trust in God. His Word promises us that when we act in faith, He blesses us (Hebrews 11). As you invest into God’s Kingdom, it makes a powerful statement that your trust in God is greater than any concern or worry.
We don’t need to accept what God has not given us (a spirit of fear), and we need to humbly receive and walk in what He has given us (a spirit . . . of power and of love and of a sound mind).
Boldness matters; without it, we can’t fulfill God’s purpose for our lives. God’s purpose for you is more than making money, being entertained, and being comfortable; it is for you to use the gifts He has given you to touch His people and help a needy world.
Fear and nervousness will keep you from using the gifts God has given you to touch His people and a needy world. God wants you to take His power, His love, and His calm thinking and overcome fear to be used of Him with all the gifts He has given you.

He Orders My Steps
21 01 2011“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord…”
(Psalm 37:23, KJV)
Sometimes, when we encounter difficult situations, we can be tempted to wonder if we are on the right path for our lives. And yes, sometimes we make poor choices that get us off course. But if your heart is following after God, if you’re determined to stay in faith and put Him first in your life, you can be confident that you are right where you are supposed to be.
You might say, “yes, that couldn’t be right. I’m uncomfortable. Somebody isn’t treating me right.” God will not allow a challenge to come into your life unless He has a divine purpose for it. I’ve found nothing in life happens to us; it happens for us. God uses those difficult things to grow us and stretch us and take us to another level. Remember, He orders your steps. Stay in faith, keep a good attitude, and let Him lead you into the good plan He has for you!
Father in heaven, thank You for ordering my steps. I trust that You are at work in my life even during times when I don’t understand it. Give me the strength and courage to do what is right in Your sight. I bless You today and always. In Jesus Name. Amen.

the year of INCREASE
21 01 2011If our heart is right, then our gift will always be right, but if our heart is not right, it does not matter how great in size our gift, it will be rejected. If our heart is right, our gift will always be accepted.
Father, this year I vow to give to you out of a heart that is filled with thanksgiving for your many blessings. I confess that I will give by faith, I will give obediently and I will give with love, in Jesus Name, Amen!

Your Chance
26 10 2010“If you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
(Rom. 10:9-10).
“For by Grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is a gift of God;
not of works lest any man should boast.”
(Eph. 2:8-9)
